Tourist Arrivals in Sri Lanka Cross One Million Mark This Year

The number of tourists arriving in Sri Lanka so far this year has surpassed the one million milestone, according to the Sri Lanka Tourism Development Authority.

The authority reported that a total of 1,010,807 tourists have visited the country during the year to date.

It further noted that 134,530 tourists arrived in Sri Lanka since the beginning of May, reflecting continued growth in inbound travel during the month.

Officials say the figures highlight a steady recovery in the tourism sector, with increasing international arrivals contributing to the country’s foreign exchange earnings and broader economic activity.
