The Sri Lankan Rupee depreciated further against the US Dollar today (July 9), with the Central Bank of Sri Lanka reporting an increase in both the buying and selling rates of the currency.
According to the Central Bank, the US Dollar buying rate rose from Rs. 330.28 on Wednesday to Rs. 331.34, while the selling rate increased from Rs. 339.73 to Rs. 340.86, moving above the Rs. 340 mark.
The Sri Lankan Rupee also weakened against a basket of other foreign currencies, including several Gulf currencies, reflecting broader pressure on the local currency in the foreign exchange market.
