The Ceylon Petroleum Corporation (CPC) says it has strengthened measures to secure Sri Lanka’s fuel supply by combining long-term procurement agreements with spot market purchases, as global energy markets remain unstable due to tensions in the Middle East.
CPC Chairman D. J. Rajakaruna stated that the corporation has already secured sufficient stocks of petrol, diesel, Jet A-1 aviation fuel, and crude oil to meet domestic demand without interruption until the end of May.
He further noted that all required shipments for this period have already been paid for, highlighting ongoing efforts to maintain continuous fuel availability and market stability.
Officials explained that this strategy is designed to reduce supply risks and ensure adequate reserves during a period of uncertainty in international oil markets.
