Sri Lanka has been recognized as one of the world’s fastest-improving countries by the Institute of International Finance (IIF), according to the 2026 Investor Relations and Debt Transparency Report.
The report ranks Sri Lanka fourth globally among the fastest-improving nations, reflecting significant progress in strengthening debt transparency and investor relations.
Vietnam secured the top position in the rankings, followed by Belize in second place and Mozambique in third.
According to the IIF, Sri Lanka’s improved performance is driven by substantial advances in debt transparency practices and stronger engagement with investors. These reforms have enhanced the country’s standing in international financial markets.
In addition to its overall improvement ranking, Sri Lanka has climbed to fifth place in the global debt transparency rankings, highlighting its commitment to greater fiscal openness and accountability.
The latest recognition is expected to boost investor confidence and reinforce Sri Lanka’s efforts to strengthen economic governance and attract international investment.
