Senior DIG Ajith Rohana Retires After 38 Years of Service

Senior Deputy Inspector General of Police Ajith Rohana retired from the Sri Lanka Police on Tuesday (08), concluding a 38-year career in the service.

Rohana, who most recently served as the Senior DIG in charge of the North Western Province, was accorded a Police Guard of Honour in Kurunegala to mark his retirement.

A lawyer by profession, he held several senior positions during his long career in the Police Department.

He became widely known to the public during his tenure as Police Media Spokesman, particularly for his regular briefings and public communications during the COVID-19 pandemic.
