Sangakkara Criticizes Sri Lankan Batting After England Defeat

Kumar Sangakkara has voiced strong criticism of the Sri Lanka cricket team’s batting approach following their defeat against England.

Sangakkara highlighted that the batters failed to adapt to the conditions and displayed a lack of tactical awareness, which contributed significantly to the team’s loss. He stressed that while individual talent is abundant, the team needs greater discipline and a more strategic mindset at the crease.

“The approach in the middle overs and the inability to build partnerships was concerning,” Sangakkara said. “We have skilled players, but cricket is a team game, and strategy is just as important as technique.”

Cricket analysts have echoed Sangakkara’s comments, noting that Sri Lanka’s top order struggled against England’s disciplined bowling attack, leading to mounting pressure on the middle order and eventual collapse.

The former captain emphasized the need for reflection and adjustment, urging the current squad to learn from the defeat and adopt a more proactive, flexible approach in future matches.
