Rain Expected in Several Provinces Today; Strong Winds Forecast in Some Areas

The Department of Meteorology has forecast intermittent showers today (03) in the North Western, Sabaragamuwa, and Southern provinces, as well as in the districts of Galle, Matara, Kandy, and Nuwara Eliya.

According to the department, light showers are also likely in the Anuradhapura District.

Meanwhile, fairly strong winds with speeds ranging from 40 to 50 km/h are expected at times over the western slopes of the central hills, the Northern, North Central, and North Western provinces, as well as in the Hambantota and Trincomalee districts.

The Department of Meteorology has advised the public to remain alert to changing weather conditions, particularly in areas expected to experience strong winds.
