Pathirana Cleared to Join IPL After Passing Fitness Test

Sri Lankan fast bowler Matheesha Pathirana has successfully passed the fitness test conducted by Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC).

Following his clearance, Pathirana is set to travel to India to participate in the 2026 Indian Premier League (IPL). He had been sidelined briefly after sustaining an injury during the recently concluded ICC Men's T20 World Cup.

Recent reports confirm that the paceman has regained full fitness and is ready to return to competitive cricket. He is expected to represent the Kolkata Knight Riders in this year’s tournament.

Earlier, it was reported that several players, including Wanindu Hasaranga and Nuwan Thushara, along with Pathirana, had not received the mandatory No Objection Certificate (NOC) from SLC after failing to meet fitness requirements.
