No water cuts during New Year festive season

The National Water Supply and Drainage Board (NWSDB) announced that no water cuts will take place across the country from April 11 to 14 in view of the Sinhala and Tamil New Year.

Additionally, the Board decided to reduce the ongoing 24-hour water cuts in the Colombo District to a maximum of 18 hours, effective immediately.

This revision applies to areas including Padukka, Homagama, Pelanwatta, and Pannipitiya. The NWSDB confirmed that while the duration is shortened, the previously scheduled dates and locations for these supply interruptions remain unchanged.

To keep the public informed, the Board is taking steps to send all relevant details regarding the water schedule to consumers via SMS.

Following the implementation of the management plan, water supply to Padukka was first suspended at 8:00 PM yesterday.

Meanwhile, Homagama will experience an 18-hour water suspension starting from 8:00 PM tonight until 2:00 PM tomorrow.

Furthermore, the existing schedule for Battaramulla, Pamankada, Wellawatta, and Nawala consisting of a three-hour cut from 10:00 PM to 1:00 AM on alternate days will continue as planned.
