Modi’s ‘Melodi’ Chocolate Gift to Italian PM Goes Viral

Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi is currently on a state visit to five countries, including the United Arab Emirates and four European nations, aimed at strengthening India’s economic and strategic partnerships.

As the final stop of his tour, Prime Minister Modi arrived in Rome yesterday at the invitation of Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni.

Following his arrival, Modi met with Prime Minister Meloni and surprised her with a packet of “Melodi” chocolates brought from India a playful reference to the popular online nickname combining their names, “Meloni” and “Modi.”

Prime Minister Meloni later shared a video of the meeting on social media. In the clip, both leaders are seen laughing as Meloni jokes, “Prime Minister Modi has brought us a very good topi — Melodi!”

The light-hearted exchange has quickly gone viral online, with social media users widely sharing the video and continuing to popularize the “Melodi” nickname for the two leaders.
