US Secretary of State Marco Rubio, currently on a four-day official visit to India, has announced a new visa initiative aimed at improving access for Indian travelers to the United States.
As part of efforts to modernize operations at US embassies, Rubio introduced a new Visa Scheduling Tool called “America First.”
The primary goal of the new system is to give priority access for visa interview bookings to eligible applicants. The initiative is expected to help travelers secure visa appointments more quickly and efficiently.
The program is designed to support Indians visiting the United States for business and investment purposes. Beneficiaries may include individuals seeking new business partnerships with US companies, representatives of firms planning to expand operations in the US, and Indian entrepreneurs interested in making major investments in American markets.
Meanwhile, Rubio noted that Indian companies have already invested nearly $20 billion in the United States, highlighting the growing economic ties between the two countries.
