The Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption has extended the deadline for submitting asset and liability declarations by one week, giving individuals until midnight on July 7 to complete the mandatory process.
According to media reports, the extension was granted after heavy online traffic caused technical disruptions on the Commission’s website, preventing many users from submitting their declarations on time.
The original deadline expired on June 30, with Director General Ranga Dissanayake previously warning that individuals who failed to submit their declarations by the deadline could face fines.
The Commission said the additional time was provided to ensure everyone has a fair opportunity to fulfil their legal obligation despite the technical issues experienced during the submission process.
