Arrest Warrants Issued for Former Cricketer Aravinda de Silva and Wife

Colombo Fort Magistrate Pasan Amarasena today (16) issued arrest warrants for former Sri Lankan cricketer Aravinda de Silva and his wife, Priyanga Anushka Wijeynayake.

The warrants were reportedly issued after the couple failed to appear before the court in connection with proceedings in a case involving the wife of former SriLankan Airlines CEO Kapila Chandrasena.

Aravinda de Silva and his wife had reportedly appeared as sureties in the case.

Meanwhile, Aravinda de Silva's mother, Rani de Silva, passed away on September 14. Her funeral and cremation are scheduled to take place today (16).

Reports indicate that Aravinda de Silva was unable to attend the court proceedings due to his mother's funeral.
