Earlier reports indicated that at least three people were missing and more than 50 others had been hospitalized due to injuries and health complications caused by the fire.
Police further stated that a total of 55 persons have sustained injuries and have been admitted to the Galpatha and Horana hospitals.
Firefighters, including three fire engines and multiple emergency teams, are continuing efforts to bring the blaze under control while search and rescue operations remain ongoing to locate those still unaccounted for.
