UNP Extends Best Wishes for SLPP Rally in Anuradhapura

The United National Party (UNP) has extended its best wishes to the Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna (SLPP) for its upcoming rally in Anuradhapura.

In a letter addressed to SLPP General Secretary Sagara Kariyawasam, UNP Chairman Vajira Abeywardena said the rally is being organised under the leadership of SLPP National Organiser and MP Namal Rajapaksa.

Abeywardena claimed that Namal Rajapaksa’s recent arrest was aimed at disrupting the planned rally.

Despite the development, he said the UNP extends its best wishes to the SLPP for the rally, which is scheduled to be held under the patronage of former President Mahinda Rajapaksa.
