Supreme Court to Hear Fundamental Rights Petition Filed by Former State Minister Pillayan

The Supreme Court has ordered that the Fundamental Rights petition filed by former State Minister Sivanesathurai Chandrakanthan, also known as “Pillayan,” challenging his arrest and detention, be taken up for hearing.

Accordingly, the petition has been scheduled for hearing on January 19, 2027, following directions issued by the Supreme Court, an Ada Derana reporter said.
