Sarath Fonseka Rejects Government Involvement in Treasury Fraud Allegations

Field Marshal Sarath Fonseka has stated that he does not believe the alleged $2.5 million fraud at the Treasury was carried out with the involvement or approval of the government.

He further noted that the current administration has the ability to conduct a transparent and independent investigation into the incident to uncover the truth.

Fonseka also highlighted that previous governments were responsible for misappropriating billions of dollars. In comparison, he remarked that the reported $40 million said to be held by Minister Lal Kantha is not an unreasonable amount for someone to have accumulated over a span of sixty years.
