With the start of the New Year, the Sri Lanka Police have introduced a dedicated hotline system to enable the public to directly share information with Divisional Officers-in-Charge (OICs) regarding the distribution of illicit drugs across the island.
In an official statement, police said the initiative is part of a broader strategy to strengthen intelligence led operations targeting illegal narcotics, including heroin, crystal methamphetamine (“ice”), cocaine, and cannabis.
Under the new mechanism, members of the public can provide credible information directly to the relevant Divisional OICs through designated telephone hotlines, police said.
The police also expressed gratitude for the strong cooperation and support received from the public during 2024 and 2025, noting that community involvement has played a key role in ongoing enforcement efforts.
A comprehensive and strategic plan to curb and drug-related crime is being systematically implemented throughout 2026, police added.
Members of the public are encouraged to share accurate and reliable information using the contact numbers released for each police division.
Police have assured the public that the identities of informants and all information provided will be kept strictly confidential and handled professionally.
The Sri Lanka Police have released the following list of Divisional OICs and their contact numbers for public reference:
