A powerful earthquake measuring 6.7 on the Richter scale struck Indonesia’s Sulawesi Island on Tuesday, according to the country’s Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG).

The earthquake’s epicentre was located approximately 42 kilometres (26.1 miles) southeast of the town of Palu at a depth of 10 kilometres, BMKG said.
