Kusal Mendis Likely to Be Appointed Sri Lanka ODI and T20I Captain - Report

Kusal Mendis is set to be appointed captain of Sri Lanka national cricket team in both One Day Internationals (ODIs) and Twenty20 Internationals (T20Is) from the upcoming Sri Lanka tour of the West Indies, according to a report by The Sunday Times Sri Lanka

The report stated that the 31-year-old wicketkeeper-batter is expected to replace Charith Asalanka as ODI captain and Dasun Shanaka as T20I skipper, as Sri Lanka Cricket seeks to bring greater stability and direction to its white-ball setup ahead of a busy international schedule.

Meanwhile, Dhananjaya de Silva is expected to continue as captain of the Test side, the report added.
