Global Gold Prices Set New Historic Mark

The world gold price has reached a historic high, surpassing US$4,900 per ounce for the first time. Reports say gold was recorded at US$4,955.74, the highest price ever.

Investment bank Goldman Sachs has predicted that gold could rise further to US$5,400 per ounce by year-end.  Market analysts in Sri Lanka expect a significant rise in local gold prices today.
