Former President Gotabaya Rajapaksa Arrives at FCID Over MiG Aircraft Deal

Former President Gotabaya Rajapaksa arrived at the Financial Crimes Investigation Division (FCID) today (11) to provide a statement in connection with the ongoing investigation into the controversial MiG aircraft deal.

Rajapaksa had been summoned by investigators to record a statement regarding the transaction, which has been the subject of a long-running investigation.

Meanwhile, former Air Force Commander Air Chief Marshal Roshan Goonetileke also appeared before the FCID yesterday (10) to provide a statement in connection with the same investigation.

Goonetileke reportedly remained at the FCID for more than five hours before leaving the premises after completing his statement.
