Bribery Commission Extends Deadline for Asset Declarations by One Week Due to Website Issues

The Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption has announced a one-week extension for individuals who were unable to submit their asset and liability declarations by the original deadline.

According to media reports, the Commission confirmed that submissions will now be accepted until midnight on July 7.

The decision was made after the Commission’s website experienced heavy traffic and technical disruptions, as a large number of users attempted to file their declarations simultaneously.

June 30 had previously been set as the final deadline, with Director General Ranga Dissanayake warning that those who failed to comply could face fines.

The Commission stated that the extension was introduced to ensure all required individuals are given sufficient opportunity to complete their mandatory filings despite the technical difficulties.
